Description: For NRA members only: a new class for us here, although the NRA has been teaching it since 2019. This class teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal protection. Not for those seeking to teach; this is for those who want the NRA CCW certification, whether to prepare for legislation coming down the proverbial pipeline or for personal satisfsction. Taught in conjunction with approved local CA CCW courses. Four-student minimum.
TO REGISTER: go to nrainstructors.org and click FIND AN NRA TRAINING COURSE NEAR YOU. Scroll down to the Self Defense section and select the NRA Basic CCW, then do a search for classes near your zip code (or at least within the distance you care to drive). This class is free if you're taking our Initial or Renewal CCW class. If not, return here to pay for the NRA class. Your place in class is not assured until both steps are complete.
Outcomes: The National Rifle Association's Carry a Concealed Weapon certification is new and we see it as, potentially, a political bellwether; please read further on this year's "Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act."

Black Oak Training, Inc. is a firearms-safety training facility in Butte County, California. We provide training and qualification for Butte, Nevada, and Tehama County concealed-carry permits along with a number of NRA and other classes.
Our CCW classes cater to individuals who are serious about learning how to defend their own and others' lives. We don't teach you how to pass a test; we teach you how to survive an attack.
Our CCW courses can qualify you in up to 34 states.
